French League Round 6 October 27th-29th

The round started on Friday with Landerneau getting a key player back, but a good game from Amy Okonkwo was not enough for them to pick up their first win, losing to Marie-Paule Foppossi and Tarbes 68-63. Kennedy Burke and Villeneuve-d’Ascq stayed perfect after an 82-64 win over Charleville-Mezieres on Saturday. It was the same story for Lyon as a close game at halftime against Tima Pouye and Bourges got away from them after the break in a 79-58 loss. On Sunday, the crowd at the top of the standings started thinning out with Landes’s 85-70 win over Lattes Montpellier. Charnay sits in the top half after a 70-66 win over Angers. Saint-Amand picked up their first win in dominating fashion after Marte Grays led them past Roche 89-60.

Turkish League Round 8 October 28th-29th

The round started on Saturday and Botas finished their roster tweaking with Lyndra Weaver leading them past a Hatay side finally filling their roster 92-72. Down a player, Michaela Onyenwere and Damiris Dantas helped Orman pick up the slack and defeat Aisha Sheppard and Antalya 95-87. Nesibe Aydin got their WNBA champion, but it was not enough in their 94-72 loss to Fenerbahce. The last game of the day had Sehernaz Cidal playing the hero to lead her team to a 91-84 win over Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Brooke McCarty-Williams, and Cankaya University. Galatasaray shifted Hind Ben Abdelkader back into the lineup domestically and she paced them in a 100-77 win over Khadijiah Cave and Tarsus. Dana Evans and Li Yueru tried to keep Besiktas close, but Alina Iagupova and Marina Mabrey led Cukurova to a 97-89 win. The trio of Kiana Williams, Trinity Baptiste, and Madi Williams scored enough between them for Bursa to defeat Khaalia Hillsman and Izmit 91-68.

Two games in this round were played on Saturday to accommodate continental competition. Schio had an easy 84-53 win over Oxygen Roma. Bologna was not able to match them after Raelin D’Alie led San Martino di Lupari to a 67-60 win. The rest of the games were at the traditional Sunday time and Venezia just edged Faenza 68-66 even though they were finally at full strength for the first time. Battipaglia continued to be the only winless team after falling to Tinara Moore and Sesto San Giovanni 82-53. The battle of teams looking to break into the top group continued with Laura Juskaite and Ragusa getting past Debora Carangelo and Sassari 71-65. Maddie Garrick fired Brixia past Sanga Milano 79-69.
