Italian League Round 7 November 16th-19th
Some of the rounds in the first half of the season were scrambled around and there will be tweaks around the holidays so a game from Round 13 was played on Thursday and Lauren Cox led Bologna past Campobasso 61-54. This round, which is actually Round 8 on the calendar, started on Friday with an 82-55 Schio win over Faenza. The rest of the games were on Sunday, starting with San Martino di Lupari’s 85-70 win over Battipaglia. Bologna rolled past Oxygen Roma 94-62. Ashley Joens launched away for Sassari and Debora Carangelo and Ivana Raca had good games in a 79-69 win over Sanga Milano. Venezia pulled away in the second half for a 74-51 win over Campobasso. Oderah Chidom was dominant for Ragusa in a 74-58 win over Brixia.

Turkish League Round 11 November 18th-19th
Another round was played on the weekend, starting with Jessica Thomas leading Nesibe Aydin past Botas 71-60. On Sunday, Marina Mabrey and Cukurova had to withstand quite the late charge from Brooke McCarty-Williams, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, and Vionise Pierre-Louis to hold off Cankaya University 95-92. Fielding a steady lineup has proven to be a challenge for Hatay so even good games from Jessica Jackson and Jaelyn Brown were not enough in an 80-68 loss to Danielle Robinson and Tarsus. Both teams continued to try different domestic lineups as Myisha Hines-Allen led Galatasaray to an 89-85 win over Aaryn Ellenberg-Wiley, Claudia Cuic, and Kayseri. Jovana Nogic tried to pick up the slack for Besiktas, but they lost to Izmit 69-60. Kayla McBride and Nikolina Milic rotated back in alongside Emma Meesseman for Fenerbahce in their 105-81 win over Destanni Henderson, Kelsey Bone, and Antalya. Bursa tried another lineup around Tuba Poyraz, losing to Ilze Jakobsone and company 91-71.

Hungarian League Round 5 November 18th-19th
It was a long break for most of the teams in the league and that gave Sopron the chance to get their squad closer to full strength in an 81-40 win over Cegled. Jacinta Monroe led Szekszard past Vasas 85-52. DVTK managed to grind out a 55-50 win over MTK to stay undefeated. That result left them alone in first place because PEAC controlled the second half on Sunday to hand Gyor their first loss 71-66. A battle of winless teams saw BEAC get on the board with a strong second half for a 73-56 victory of Szigetszentmiklos.

Spanish League Round 8 November 18th-19th
Some of the teams had a short turnaround for this round, starting on Saturday with Ibaeta’s 74-64 win over Jairis. Tanaya Atkinson and Zaragoza just managed to escape Madrid with a 75-71 win over Estudiantes. On Sunday, Valencia bounced back and kept Bembibre winless 80-43. Celta picked up their first win 70-59 against Barcelona, but they still sit in the danger zone. Gran Canaria is just in a safe position for now after their former player Lydia Giomi helped Ensino start fast in a 77-68 win in Lugo. Ferrol has had a dream start to their time in the top division, but found Avenida to be another level of challenge, losing 64-39. Gernika continues to lurk behind the top teams after a 78-64 win over Sedis. Araski’s hot streak continued with a 63-52 win over Girona.

French League Round 7 November 19th
This round was scheduled fully for Sunday in order to make the international break as long as possible, but it was not long enough for Tarbes, causing major controversy when they were allowed to postpone their game against Charleville-Mezieres because injuries, including a national team one, left them with very few senior pros. In terms of games that were played, Bourges won at Roche 71-53. Alisia Jenkins led Lattes Montpellier past Leila Lacan and Angers 86-72. Saint-Amand performed major surgery on their roster during the break to stop the slump they had been in and it paid off immediately even as they wished that the story of the players would be strictly on the court as Alexis Morris made her long-awaited professional debut and LaDazhia Williams played her first overseas game in their 69-61 win over winless Landerneau. Villeneuve-d’Ascq is undefeated, but they needed overtime before Janelle Salaun could help them past Charnay 87-78. Lyon was able to field Gabby Williams and Marine Johannes for the first time this season and were able to bring in a new medical replacement, but the familiar sinking feeling had returned before a sudden rally to force overtime and prevail 90-83 against Landes.
