Women’s College Basketball Players Rankings – Class by Class! Week 9

Elizabeth Kitley of Virginia Tech

In the first week of the year we’ve had some wonderful games as conference play has now begun. There has been an increase in parity this season and it was shown on Sunday, when #13 Virginia Tech defeated #3 NC State after senior Elizabeth Kitley shot a layup with just 0.9 seconds left. NC State was no longer undefeated after that shocking upset. That was in the ACC conference. Then, in the Pac-12 conference, Arizona defeated #18 Utah by one after Utah couldn’t hit a buzzer beater with just 0.1 seconds left. Finally, back in the ACC conference, North Carolina defeated #16 Notre Dame by 4. North Carolina played a terrific game and Notre Dame just wasn’t able to come through in the clutch moments of the fourth quarter. This was the first time in 5 tries that North Carolina were able to defeat Notre Dame in South Bend. Conference season will be tons of fun during these next two months. So much to look forward to!

Listed below are the top 36 seniors, the top 27 juniors, the top 18 sophomores and the top 9 freshmen for the week of Jan. 2nd to Jan. 7th, 2024. You can view the previous week here. Questions? First time viewing the rankings? You can read the FAQ page here.
