Group A:
Most of the games in this group were on Wednesday, including in Sfantu Gheorghe as Queralt Casas and Valencia made sure that they were not facing too severe of a climb to the last quarterfinals place by taking care of business and defeating Sepsi 71-61. The other already-eliminated team had a different result after Lublin shocked DVTK 56-37. Lyon got another player back in time to try to complete a miracle run, but lost to Zaragoza 63-60. Thursday’s game was in Schio and Arella Guirantes helped the hosts take control of the game in the second half to win 75-67 against Fenerbahce, creating a healthy gap between Valencia and the last spot in the next round.

All of the games in this group were on Wednesday and the winner of one game would move a game above the crowd fighting for the last spots so Marina Mabrey made sure that it was Cukurova with the advantage after their 66-59 victory over Polkowice. USK Praha officially clinched their spot in the quarterfinals, leaving Avenida in a difficult position 78-64. The two teams at the bottom of the standings met with Landes winning 83-75 against Gyor. Virtus Bologna is on a run again after Francesca Pasa had a terrific game in their 65-62 win, keeping Villeneuve-d’Ascq from holding a one game lead on the last spot and moving to the top of that tiebreaker.

Half of the series started on Wednesday with the same two game format that opened with the team with the worse regular season hosting. 3 seed Reyer brings home a 77-68 lead after their win over 14 seed Arka Gdynia. The draw brought together teams not only from the same league, but also the same region, and both had lineup changes before 5 seed Girona defeated 12 seed Sedis 68-52. 2 seed London Lions also brings home a lead after their 76-69 win over 15 seed Gernika. Gabija Meskonyte and 6 seed Riga made it a sweep for the road teams after an 87-70 win over 11 seed Roche.

Thursday’s games looked to be following the same pattern, but Gintare Petronyte and the lowest ranked remaining team, 26 seed Kayseri, roared to life late and won outright 76-65 against 13 seed PEAC, which had strengthened their roster for this encounter. That first seeding upset opened the door and 16 seed Besiktas, which trailed at the half against top seed Bourges, came back in the second half for an 83-74 win behind Jovana Nogic and Dana Evans. 20 seed Gorzow was looking for an upset early, but 4 seed Galatasaray took the lead by halftime on their way to an 87-73 win and got a tremendous rebounding game from NaLyssa Smith. The closest series came at the end of the week when Marieme Badiane and 8 seed Lattes Montpellier left Sassari with a 69-66 win over Debora Carangelo and 24 seed Dinamo.
