Another Wednesday doubleheader started with an easy 96-68 win for Bendigo against Adelaide. Townsville won the first of two key matchups at Melbourne 69-57. The Perth Lynx are trying to hang on to their position, but suffered a setback on Thursday when they lost to Alex Sharp, Jade Melbourne, and Canberra 81-75 even with a good game from Amy Atwell. Lauren Jackson turned back the clock on Friday and made sure that Southside maintained a gap between the two halves of the standings with a 79-73 win over Sydney. Naz Hillmon and Melbourne flipped the script on Saturday with a 94-58 win, keeping Townsville from building too big a lead in the race for the top seed. On Sunday, Perth’s slide continued as a good game from Amy Atwell was not enough and Cayla George and Sydney won 87-84 to avoid falling behind by too much in the playoff chase. The last game of the round saw Kelsey Griffin and Bendigo build a big lead in the second half on their way to an 88-66 win over Canberra.
