South American League Final 4 June 15th-16th

The last four teams arrived this weekend in Asuncion, Paraguay to determine the champion, starting with Saturday’s semifinals. Both teams strengthened ahead of the final phase, but it was Araraquara that won the first game 59-50 over Obras. Hosts Felix Perez Cardozo played in the second game and brought in a rookie to change their foreign player slots, but Aguada may have performed the most significant surgery on their roster during the break, including bringing in Florencia Niski and she teamed up with Agustina Marin in an 81-74 win. The bronze medal game was first on Sunday and the hosts could not send their fans home with at least one win, losing to Florencia Chagas and Obras 75-71. The final was out of doubt early with Araraquara rolling past Agustina Marin and Aguada 87-69 behind Emanuely De Oliveira and marking a successful return to the competition for Brazilian clubs.
