Olympic Quarterfinals August 7th

All of the quarterfinals were on Wednesday with the competition moving to Paris. Australia rode the momentum from their last win early and Alanna Smith led them to an 85-67 win over Serbia. The next game was a rematch of last year’s EuroBasket championship game and the addition of Megan Gustafson did not help Spain change the result after Belgium built a lead by halftime for a 79-66 win. Germany got Nyara Sabally back, but Marine Johannes sent the fans home happy in France’s 84-71 win. The day ended with A’ja Wilson pacing the United States in an 88-74 win.
