Rwanda Group C
The second games at each location were split across two days so only this group played on Tuesday in Kigali. Agnes Torok and Hungary bounced back quickly in a 97-60 win over the Philippines with the two losing teams from the first game facing each other. That meant that the two teams that won their openers would play in the other game and Brazil had the better start, but Senegal fought back for a 69-59 win and the first spot in the next round. The result simplifies Thursday with Brazil and Hungary playing to take second place and advance alongside them while the Philippines are eliminated.

Mexico Group A
This group was the one playing in Mexico City on Tuesday and Czechia won again, defeating Park Ji-Su and South Korea 76-63. The result of the last game of the day was out of doubt pretty quickly, but there were still implications for Thursday on the line in the fourth quarter. Mali got the last point that they needed as Djeneba N’Diaye led them to an 88-66 win over Daniela Wallen and Venezuela. They will advance with a win over South Korea in Thursday’s first game from this site regardless of the result of the last game. If South Korea wins, they would advance and Mali would need Venezuela to lose. If Mali wins, Venezuela would need a big enough win to send Czechia to the bottom of the tiebreaker.
