The first game on Wednesday would determine which other team would advance to the semifinals from this group. Paraguay kept it close in the first half, but Venezuela advanced with a 75-57 win. Colombia stayed perfect with a 79-54 win over Ecuador.

The first game in this group would give the winner the last spot in the consolation bracket and the loser an early exit. Uruguay led for most of the game, but Bolivia sprung to life in the fourth quarter to get the 67-56 win. Chile needed a big win to avoid dropping to the other spot in the consolation bracket, but Argentina slammed the door on that possibility immediately and won 81-42 to take the top spot in the group.
