The final day of games on Saturday started with the 7th place game and Bolivia had the lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Ecuador stifled them down the stretch for a 68-61 win. Tatiana Gomez and Chile won the consolation championship in front of their home fans 72-65 over Paraguay and will get the chance to prove themselves next summer when they host the confederation-wide tournament. There was more at stake in the next game than a bronze medal fought for between bitter rivals as the last spot from this region in next summer’s tournament was on the line and it was Yuliany Perez and Colombia getting past Venezuela one more time 68-62 to accomplish their goal after pouring their whole summer into this effort. The championship game closed out the day and Brazil had the lead early, but Argentina showed their first win was no fluke, knocking off the defending champions 84-76, despite a good game from Emanuely De Oliveira.
