The five qualification series for spots in the regular season started this week with the other games being played next week. The scores of the two games will be combined to determine a winner with overtime settling any tie after the second game. The ten teams had been divided into seeded and unseeded teams with the seeded teams getting to host the second game and teams from the same country not being allowed to play each other.
There were two series starting on Wednesday and Angers started well on their way to an easy 90-57 win over MTK. Janika Griffith-Wallace had a great professional debut for PAS Giannina, but they lost to Shaylee Gonzales and Dinamo Sassari, which handed Chiara Grattini her professional debut after her return to her home country, 80-63.
Thursday’s games included Bodrum cruising past Osnabruck 78-36. Iraklis ended up being the only unseeded team to win after pulling away from Universitatea Cluj in the second half for a 61-50 lead, giving Alecia Westbrook and Kennedy Dickie their professional debuts while Kai Carter had her professional debut for the visitors. The last game of the day was uncompetitive as Ferrol, which handed professional debuts to Mimi Collins and Moira Joiner, rolled past Battipaglia, which gave Unique Drake her professional debut.
