FIBA has worked to finish filling out the international club competition scene and were able to organize the first tournament in Asia, which features four teams from the eastern half of the confederation. The teams are playing in Chengdu, China to determine a winner at the conclusion of the round-robin. Rather than add the teams to our roster tracker, players who fall under the criteria to be listed there are below:

The first game on Thursday immediately resulted in a surprise when Cathay Life of Taiwan had the better fourth quarter to defeat Japan’s Red Wave. The other game went more conventionally as hosts Sichuan crushed Indonesia’s Surabaya Fever 83-45.

Saturday was the final day of competition and Cathay Life won the early game 69-62 over the winless Surabaya Fever, leaving them waiting on the second game to find out their final placement. Sichuan took the lead early, but the Red Wave closed the gap in the second half trying to win to at least secure second place. Han Xu helped the hosts hold on to a 74-69 win and earned MVP honors in leading them to an undefeated tournament.
