After the first round started the season, the next round was played this week with the top division teams who are not in European competition entering at this point. Wednesday’s game was a matchup between second division team Voiron and third division team Monaco that Voiron won 79-62 over Julie Tetart and company. Esmery Martinez was finally able to make her professional debut on Friday for Charleville-Mezieres in their 72-50 win over Mondeville from the second division. Two first division teams were drawn against each other and Roche was looking for some of the success that they had been lacking in league play, but had a late collapse to be knocked out by Landerneau 73-71. Chartres had a slow start on Saturday, but did eliminate Alencon from the second division 61-47. A battle of second division teams finished up the round and Feytiat edged Montbrison 65-62.
