Turkish League Round 10
This round started on Saturday with Sydney Wallace and Jaime Nared leading Nesibe Aydin in a 91-81 win over Sug Sutton and Orman. The schedule ended up creating an interesting immediate rematch as the President’s Cup will be played midweek between the same teams. In this first league matchup, the teams got to try potential lineups for games when trophies will be on the line and Fenerbahce stayed perfect after Gabby Williams and Emma Meesseman led them in an 82-69 win over Cukurova. On Sunday, Victoria Macaulay and Robyn Parks led their team past Pelin Bilgic and Bodrum 116-70. Brianna Fraser and Galatasaray defeated Bursa Ant 90-73. On Monday, Tina Krajisnik led Besiktas to an 85-77 win over Aisha Sheppard and Tarsus.

It was an Empress’s Cup weekend in Japan with the top professional teams joining in this round. The Rabbits were eliminated by the corporate team from Yamagata Bank on Saturday. Blessing Adebanjo grabbed 23 rebounds, but the college team from Yamanashi Gakuin could not hold on in their bid to knock out a team from the pro leagues. Sunday’s Round of 16 saw the rest of the top teams enter and it will be one of the teams from the top two leagues lifting the 91st trophy in the history of this competition.
All the teams were in action this week with a Thursday-Friday series schedule. Okzhetpes won the first game at Turan, but lost the second to fall a game further back of the lead. Caspiy is right behind them after Tamar Papuashvili had 12 steals in one game, twice falling one stat short of a 5×5 game in their sweep of Ertis. Astana remains in the lead after two wins over Aktobe.
Another week of games started in South Korea on Wednesday with a big comeback win for BNK over Hana Bank. Woori Bank started well on Thursday to fend off the Stars. Hana Bank avoided last place on Friday by defeating the S-Birds to keep them there instead. The Blue Minx rolled past BNK on Saturday. The S-Birds nearly picked up a win on Sunday, but fell to the Stars. The Blue Minx kept their momentum with a win over Hana Bank on Monday.
New Zealand
The round started on Thursday with the Pouakai winning both games over the Hoiho. Ashley Joens had 32 points on Saturday to help the Whai finished a sweep over the Queens, which fielded Lauryn Hippolite for more than 40 minutes that day. The Hoiho were swept again on Sunday, this time by the Kahu.
Around Europe
The most anticipated game in the Adriatic was on Saturday with the first meeting between the two undefeated teams that Celje won over Buducnost. Lana Packovski had a 33 point game in Croatia’s domestic league. In the Bosnian league, Brittiney Seymour had 30 points and Marija Damjanovic had 20 rebounds. In the Baltic, Malia Bambrick had 30 points and Mia Loyd had 32 points. The cup quarterfinal series started in Romania with Jack Animam grabbing 21 rebounds to help Arad advance. In Moldova’s cup, Valeria Lisii had a 22 rebound game and Crina Pricob had a 32 point game. Joyce Etute had 37 points to help her team win in Luxembourg’s cup and then Alexus Johnson had a 42 point game in league play.
Chase for Promotion
Anja Spasojevic had 38 points in Serbia’s second division. In Portugal’s second division, Emma Huff had 35 points and Fatoumata Balde had 34 points. In Lithuania’s second division, Agne Antanaviciute had 24 rebounds and Deimane Zukaite had 37 points and 16 assists. Brazil Harvey-Carr grabbed 20 rebounds in Iceland’s second division. In Germany’s second division, Sophia Nolan had 30 points and then her twin Emma had 34 points the next day. In France’s second division, Mariana Muadi had 24 rebounds and Emilie Raynaud had 30 points.
Notable Individual Performances
In Switzerland, Mykea Gray had 30 points and Shannon Ryan had 20 rebounds. In Malta, Makaila Napoleon had 33 points while Josephine Diaby had a 16 point, 12 rebound, 10 assist triple-double for the opposition. Caterrion Thompson had 37 points in Kosovo while her teammate Arbnore Percuku dished out 15 assists and Saranda Daci recorded a 13 point, 19 rebound, 10 assist triple-double in her game. Na’Jai Pollard had a 38 point game in Israel and Alyssa Baron had 32 points. Jessica Shepard had a 32 point game in Greece. Davida Dale had a 12 point, 10 rebound, 13 assist triple-double in the British league. Zippy Broughton had a 34 point game in Germany. Elena Sutt had 31 points in an overtime win in Estonia. Devon Brookshire had a 30 point game in the Czech league. Mariah Miller had 31 points in Cyprus.
There were a number of big scoring games in Sweden as Jessica Kelliher was the leader with 34 points while Tiffany Brown had 33 points and Madison Griggs had 30 points as their teams played each other. Most of the games in Iceland had big statlines as Esther Fokke had 30 points and Maddie Sutton had a 13 point, 13 rebound, 12 assist triple-double to get their team a win. An absolutely wild game had Abby Beeman dishing out 16 assists only for the opposition to get a 42 point game from Randi Brown and a 13 point, 12 rebound, 10 assist triple-double from Oumoul Sarr. Emilie Hesseldal had a 24 rebound effort in her team’s win. Jasmine Dickey had 31 points in a loss.
