Group A

This group started play on Tuesday and it was an elimination game for sure when FAP edged Queens 62-60, but the victors did not get the margin that they were hoping for to grab one of the spots for third-place teams. The two qualified teams met and Al Ahly pulled away from Ville de Dakar in the second half for a 61-46 win.

The winner of the first game in this group would advance and who won would affect which of the two losing teams would finish in third place. Friend’s coasted to a win, but CNSS kept the margin at a safe level pending the last game. That result ended up going their way when Kierstan Bell and APR just managed a 74-72 win, eliminating the defending champions Sporting in stunning fashion after calculating the tiebreakers.

The last games in this group were played on Wednesday and Ferroviario stayed perfect by eliminating Makomeno 88-38. The winner of the other game would automatically advance too and Destiney Philoxy and REG took the lead early before coasting to that spot. Jeanne d’Arc managed to keep it close enough with a 65-52 scoreline to advance as a third-place team.
