Africa Finals December 15th

The final placement games were played on Sunday, starting with CNSS’s 71-37 win over Jeanne d’Arc for 7th place. Friend’s defeated REG 55-47 to win the consolation championship. Overtime was needed to award the bronze medal and Ndeye Maty Mbaye and hosts Ville de Dakar nearly got it done in front of the home fans, but the trio of Italee Lucas, Kierstan Bell, and Shaina Pellington got APR the 96-94 win. The last two undefeated teams met in the final and Al Ahly may have felt ready to be the new Egyptian power on the throne, but Ferroviario took the lead early and never let up to bring the trophy home to Maputo for the third time with an 81-72 win.
