Overseas League Updates December 29th

Polish League Round 11

Polkowice could not play at Gdynia in this round so only two games were played on Saturday. Robbi Ryan was great for Sleza Wroclaw in their 83-68 win over Poznan. The other game took overtime to decide before Tai’Sheka Porchia and Bydgoszcz could prevail 96-87 over Savannah Wheeler and Torun after the hosts had an incredible start. On Sunday, Polonia Warszawa could not stay in a tie for last place even with Anna Pawlowska and Javyn Nicholson leading a late charge and they lost to Rebeka Mikulasikova and Gorzow 82-79. Zaglebie Sosnowiec edged Aleksandra Stanacev and Lublin 80-78.

Turkish League Round 15

This round started on Saturday with Bursa Ant winning 94-60 at Bodrum. On Sunday, Astou Ndour-Fall and Robyn Parks led their team to an 81-67 win over Tarsus. Iliana Rupert and Cukurova started well on their way to an 87-76 win over Nesibe Aydin. Aerial Powers and Kayseri completed a late comeback to get past Botas 67-64. Julie Vanloo and Galatasaray finished the day with an 80-58 win over Orman.

Italian Cup First Qualifying Round

Two spots in the main cup event are decided, but the next eight teams have to play two rounds to grab the other two places. Derthona had an easy 89-47 win over Battipaglia on Saturday. Sparkle Taylor’s good game was not enough for Sassari in the other game and they lost to San Martino di Lupari 77-66. Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah led Campobasso in a 97-82 win over Shante Evans and Brixia on Sunday. Tinara Moore and Anastasia Conte helped Sesto San Giovanni close the round with an emphatic 91-58 win over Anna Turel and Faenza.
