The first game was in Madrid and 18 seed Estudiantes built the lead early on their way to a 75-65 over 2 seed Villeneuve-d’Ascq. The hosts also won in the other game in Sassari as 25 seed Dinamo had the better second half for the 60-50 advantage on 9 seed Ibaeta.
One series had to swap venues and it was the old Hungarian league rivalry with 3 seed Gyor hosting on Thursday, losing 89-83 to Jacinta Monroe and 14 seed Sopron. PEAC is the worst remaining seed at 29, but Julia Reisingerova and Agnes Studer helped them get an 85-73 win over Borislava Hristova and 13 seed Girona. 5 seed Lyon looked to be heading to a road win behind Dayshanette Harris, but 12 seed Galatasaray woke up in the fourth quarter to prevail 77-72. The second half was also key for Quinesha Lockett and 22 seed Keltern for their 62-56 win over 6 seed Lattes Montpellier. Top seed DVTK looked to have recovered by halftime, but Angela Mataix was unstoppable and 17 seed Ferrol got the 78-73 win. Ameryst Alston and 23 seed Angers looked ready to make it a clean sweep for seeding upsets, but Temi Fagbenle and Besiktas brought home a 64-52 advantage.
