Australian League Round 11

The round started on Wednesday with Dallas Loughridge and Southside taking the lead early, but Jaz Shelley and Geelong left with a 76-70 win. Canberra’s streak continued on Saturday when Nyadiew Puoch led them past Adelaide 91-76. Lauren Cox led Townsville in a 73-63 win over Naz Hillmon and Southside. Sunday started with Amy Atwell leading Perth to an 80-77 win over Geelong. Bendigo stayed a game ahead of them with an 80-62 win over Sydney.

Spanish League Round 16

This round started in Madrid on Saturday and Estudiantes defeated Gernika 74-55. Arica Carter and Iyana Martin led Avenida in a 91-62 win over Ardoi. Kai James and Gran Canaria ended the day with a 79-76 win over Sedis. On Sunday, Jairis was losing what would have been a tough blow to their record, but did enough in the fourth quarter for a 64-57 win over Araski. Leonie Fiebich was at her best for Valencia in an 86-69 win over Ensino. Ibaeta was impressive in a 76-72 win over Zaragoza. The duo of Mariam Coulibaly and Alima Dembele helped Joventut Badalona move into the last playoff spot with a 97-90 win over Gala Mestres and Ferrol. Girona shook off a slow start on their way to an 83-52 win over Celta with Chloe Bibby and Borislava Hristova leading the way.

Cukurova got back on track with an 83-68 win over Bursa Ant. Sunday’s first game was a thriller that Julie Vanloo helped Galatasaray edge 92-91 over Crystal Dangerfield and Kayseri. Besiktas ended the day with a an 89-61 win over Nesibe Aydin.

Tiffany Clarke and Charleville-Mezieres took care of business in the other game with a 79-67 win over Tarbes. Sunday started with Landerneau’s 77-63 win over Lattes Montpellier. Ameryst Alston and Angers got an 82-70 win over Brooke McCarty-Williams and Roche. Lyon kept a gap between the playoff and playdown places with a 75-70 win over Haley Peters and Villeneuve-d’Ascq. Chartres put everything together in the second half to defeat Charnay 74-69.

Polish League Round 13

Sleza Wroclaw had a fast start on Saturday to defeat Bydgoszcz 88-63. Kamila Borkowska and Alicja Jarzab paced Zaglebie Sosnowiec in a 123-45 win over Polkowice, which was officially handed a forfeit for the game where they could not field a playable roster in time. On Sunday, Gdynia was able to finish a comeback for a 71-65 win over Polonia Warszawa to continue leading in the standings. The middle playoff places will be quite a battle for the rest of the season and Agnieszka Skobel and Poznan kept Lublin from pulling ahead with an 80-71 win over Magdalena Szymkiewicz and company. Overtime was needed to close the day and Torun recovered from losing a big lead to defeat Emilia Kosla and Gorzow 89-78.

This round started with one game on Saturday that Janelle Salaun and Schio won 85-49 over Battipaglia. On Sunday, Sara Scalia and Campobasso stayed above Derthona in the standings with an 83-51 win. Rae Lin D’Alie and San Martino di Lupari stayed even with Sesto San Giovanni in the loss column with a 76-68 win. Faenza gave themselves some cushion in the chase for the last couple of playoff places after a 73-58 win over Sparkle Taylor and Sassari. The first place team playing the last place team went about as expected when Venezia defeated Helmi Tulonen and Alpo 84-59.

One game in this round was moved to later in the season, but the rest of the games were played on Sunday. It was last place Darazsak hosting first place DVTK and the visitors coasted to a 72-51 win. Janka Hegedus and David Kornei fought hard, but lost to Kathryn Westbeld and Szekszard 90-77. Barbara Angual and Boglarka Bach helped Gyor roll to a 116-40 win over Szigetszentmiklos. PEAC also cruised with a 96-45 win over Mar’Shay Moore and BEAC. A battle for the other spot in the top half below the main title contenders went to MTK 84-65 over Domonique Davis and Vasas.
