The league resumed in Japan after a long break on a Saturday-Sunday series schedule and the Red Wave are still in the lead after a sweep over the Antelopes that included an overtime win. The Iris swept the Cougars and the Magic swept the Sunflowers. The Wings salvaged a split after an overtime win as Dimaro Jessica Wariebimo Ere had 22 and 20 rebound games for the Sunshine Rabbits. The second division also resumed and the Vickies swept the last place Egrets. The other Friday-Saturday series saw the Rabbits sweep the Aranmare. The Koalas are still at the top of the tiebreaker for first place after a Saturday-Sunday sweep of the Queen Bees.
A new week of games in South Korea started with Woori Bank’s win over the Stars on Wednesday. BNK pulled away from the S-Birds for a win on Thursday. The Blue Minx defeated last place Hana Bank on Friday. The S-Birds climbed above the Stars in the standings with their Saturday win. The top two teams met on Sunday and Woori Bank moved a game closer to BNK with their win. The Blue Minx finished the week with a win over the Stars on Monday.
The top two teams in Saudi Arabia met with Al Ahli handing Al Nassr their first loss. Al Ula got 33 points from Farhiya Abdi to defeat Al Qadisiyah. Houda Hamrouni had 39 points to help Al Ittihad keep Al Okhdood winless.
Cathay Life brought in Penina Davidson for this pod of games in Taiwan and that helped them sweep their matchups and win the tiebreaker over Taiyuan Textile. Taipower remains winless with Chunghwa Telecom’s only two wins coming against them.
Around Europe
Nyon hosted a pod of European league games and won their games on Friday and Sunday. Frankivsk was quite shorthanded for these games and remain winless after Ostrava bounced back from their first loss with a win on Saturday. It was less than a full round in the Adriatic, but Nylah Young had 32 points in an overtime loss in their second division and then followed it up with 32 points in Slovenian league play. Taru Tuukkanen played her first two games as a 47 year old in Finland and her teammate Carmen Tyson-Thomas had 33 points in the second game while Annika Aarrejoki had a 20 rebound game. Falcon defeated Abyhoj to win the cup in Denmark.
Chase for Promotion
Oleksandra Kachynska had a 16 point, 10 rebound, 10 assist triple-double in Ukraine’s second division. Marija Kostic had a 30 point game in Serbia’s second division. Sara Fritea had a 33 point game in Romania’s second division. Emma Huff had a 36 point game in Portugal’s second division. In Lithuania’s second division, Kateryna Kliuchinikie had a 31 point game and Brigita Gudelionyte had a 22 rebound effort. Brazil Harvey-Carr had 43 points in Iceland’s second division. Hailey Van Roekel had 23 rebounds in Germany’s second division.
Channon Fluker had 21 rebounds and Edremit stayed well above the rest of the teams in Turkey’s second division. Kurstyn Harder was the leading scorer with 33 points and Ozge Karatas was the leading domestic scorer with 30 points. Leganes lost for the first time in Spain’s second division, but Estepona also lost to keep the gap between them the same. The top two teams in one half of the third division met and Segle XXI defeated Sevilla. Josefina Zeballos was the leading scorer with 30 points in the other group.

In Luxembourg, Amanda Cahill had 36 points and her teammate Alexus Johnson had a 22 point, 20 rebound, 13 assist triple-double. Jessica Shepard had 33 points in Greece. In the British league, Jada Guinn had 34 points and Tyia Singleton had 34 points and 20 rebounds. In Cyprus, Vanesa Jasa had 30 points and her teammate Ioanna Kyprianou had 17 assists while Nina Rickards had a 38 point game. Gina Pirjak had a 43 point outburst in Croatia. In the Bosnian league, Natasa Sobot had a 32 point game and Jovana Milakovic had a 28 rebound game. Oryna Bolotnikova had 30 points in an overtime loss in Austria. In Albania, Aniylah Bryant had 33 points and Jose-Ann Johnson had 20 rebounds.
In Sweden, Tiffany Brown had a 20 point, 10 rebound, 10 assist triple-double and Morgan Haney had 34 points. Every game in Malta had a big statline as Brandi Huffhines had 30 points, Janai Crooms had 37 points, and Olesia Malashenko had 21 rebounds. In Iceland, Emilie Hesseldal grabbed 20 rebounds and Abby Beeman scored 37 points. A fantastic scoring duel had Amandine Toi score 37 points in the win after Jasmine Dickey had 39 points for the opposition. Mikiah Herbert Harrigan had 32 points and Gili Eisner had 15 assists in a loss to close out a previous round in Israel and then Jennie Simms had a 21 point, 23 rebound, 10 assist triple-double in this round.
