Australian League Round 12
The round started on Wednesday with the top two teams squaring off and it was Sami Whitcomb who tortured her former team in the second half to help Bendigo get the 95-86 win over Ally Wilson, Laeticia Amihere, and Perth. On Friday, Jaz Shelley and Haley Jones helped Geelong build a big lead in the second half for a 90-70 win over Cayla Francis and Sydney. Saturday started with Courtney Woods and Townsville cruising past Canberra 105-71. Ally Wilson, Anneli Maley, and Perth put it all together in the fourth quarter for an 86-78 win over Naz Hillmon and Southside. The first game on Sunday had Shaneice Swain and Sydney getting an 84-60 win over Adelaide. Kelsey Griffin and Sami Whitcomb helped Bendigo keep their run going with a 95-73 win over Geelong.

This round started on Friday and Ardoi got an important 83-81 win over Jairis to improve their chances of escaping the danger zone. Saturday started with Laura Westerik and Gernika defeating Sedis 72-66. Ensino got a 66-57 win over Sami Hill and Araski next. In Madrid, Estudiantes bounced back from midweek disappointment with a 76-67 win over Ibaeta. The day ended out on Gran Canaria with Kayla Alexander and Valencia rolling to a 103-69 win. On Sunday, Mariam Coulibaly was brilliant in Joventut Badalona’s 80-72 win over Celta. Claire Melia and Ferrol knocked Migna Toure and Girona out of the lead 72-70 to stay in playoff contention themselves. That result left the door open for Avenida to sit at the top of the tiebreaker, but Stephanie Mawuli and Zaragoza won 72-64.

On Sunday, the game was closer in the first half, but DVTK eventually stifled Cegled for an 85-39 win. Jelena Brooks and Sopron climbed above PEAC with an 86-62 win. Gyor stayed tied for the lead in the loss column with a 108-49 win over David Kornei. The trio of Mar’Shay Moore, Katrina Ozola, and Asiah Jones helped BEAC stay in the last playoff spot with a 96-80 win over Zita Vari and Szigetszentmiklos.

Sara Scalia and Campobasso finished the day with an 84-61 win over Alpo. On Sunday, Marzia Tagliamento kept Brixia in the playoff picture with a 66-64 win at Sassari. Sara Roumy and Faenza ended the round with a 74-54 win over Battipaglia.
