EuroLeague 2nd Stage Round 6 January 28th

Group E

Tuesday was the last day of competition in this stage, but the first two games in this group had no bearing on the next round. Landes looked to get some momentum with an early lead, but Bridget Carleton and Cukurova showed their strength in the rest of the game in front of their home fans for a 74-67 win. It was a similar story early in Brno when two eliminated teams played and the home team had a great start, but Iyana Martin, a name that anyone who is not familiar with should get to know in the next year, helped Avenida get the 65-63 win as they turn back to domestic competition. That set up the final game of the day, which would decide which team would secure a spot in the final round and play next for a direct spot in the semifinals and which team would have to prevail in a two-game series to join them. Schio took the lead early, extending their cushion from a win when the teams played last. Bourges took a lead in the second half, but could not keep it at the margin needed to flip the tiebreaker, fading late to lose outright 84-72.

Group F

The first game in this group would determine which team would finish higher in the standings and get to host the second game in the their matchup with a team from the other group to advance to the final stage. USK Praha steadily built a lead, but Stephanie Mawuli and Zaragoza roared back in the fourth quarter, getting the margin to the point where they were losing by a small enough margin to flip the tiebreaker, but the hosts got the last basket and third place with a 72-66 win. The top two teams in the group met with no impact on the standings and Fenerbahce finished the group stage undefeated with an 88-71 win over Valencia.
