Australian League Semifinals Game 2

The first series continued on Wednesday and Ally Wilson and Perth could not stave off elimination, losing to Townsville 106-76. The other series resumed on Thursday and Tahlia Tupaea and Sydney were looking to avoid the sweep even while shorthanded, but Sami Whitcomb and Bendigo withstood the early push and won 91-74.

EuroCup Quarterfinals Game 2

All four series concluded on Thursday with simultaneous tipoffs. Whichever team won the series in Ferrol would be the lowest seed remaining and Sparkle Taylor and 25 seed Dinamo Sassari cut into the deficit in their effort to complete another upset, but the 17 seeded hosts slammed the door on any attempts in the second half and an 89-70 win was enough for a comfortable 184-146 final margin. Alexis Peterson and 7 seed Besiktas battled shorthanded and had the lead early, but 2 seed Villeneuve-d’Ascq recovered and got the 81-81 tie so their first game lead held up for a 172-153 aggregate win. 6 seed Lattes Montpellier had the lead early, but had to recover in the second half to win 69-57 only to see 14 seed Sopron’s cushion from the first game be too much to overcome and the visitors advanced 138-123. 5 seed Lyon wasted no time in overturning the small deficit that they faced and a 72-51 win was enough to send 13 seed Girona packing 144-128.
