The championship series started on Wednesday and Bendigo’s fantastic season continued after Veronica Burton led them to a 70-60 win after an impressive second half. Townsville needs to win at home on Sunday now to extend their season.

Spanish League Round 24

A midweek round was played with one game pushed to the cup week. First place Valencia cruised to a 93-43 win over last place Ardoi. Ibaeta put up quite a fight in trying to move closer to safety, but Girona left with a 72-66 win. Dominique Toussaint and Gran Canaria missed a chance to stick close to the last playoff spots after losing to Estudiantes 66-63. Sedis looked set to record an impressive win, but Sika Kone helped Avenida recover to prevail 69-63. Elena Buenavida and Gernika have the last playoff spot for now after their 72-69 win over Rachel Howard and Ensino in Lugo. Alima Dembele and Joventut Badalona moved into a secure playoff position and could even look to jump up after edging Zaragoza 78-76. Celta remains in danger after Lou Lopez Senechal fired Jairis to a 90-64 win in Murica.
