Spanish League Round 26
A game from Round 29 was brought forward to Wednesday with Valencia playing in continental competition and it looked like they would take care of business, but Ibaeta stunned them for a 67-63 win to help themselves get closer to safety. One game in this round was moved to cup week, but most of the rest of the games were on Saturday, including Reshanda Gray and Jairis defeating Joventut Badalona 85-72 in a battle of teams hoping to make noise in the playoffs. Celta had a massive game for their hopes to escape the danger zone and they got the 78-68 win at Araski. Chaos continued at the top of the standings when Ensino defeated Avenida 69-64. Estudiantes nearly lost their chance at an upset, but recovered for an 81-77 win at Valencia. Noa Morro and Ferrol celebrated their continental triumph with an 80-56 win over Laura Westerik and Gernika. Girona suddenly found themselves all alone in first place by two games in the loss column after doubling up Gran Canaria 82-41. Ardoi is pretty much out of chances after their 84-37 loss to Helena Pueyo and Zaragoza on Sunday.

The last round of the regular season started with a busy Friday as teams get ready for the cup next week. Bodrum’s miserable season ended with a 111-65 loss to Elif Cayir, Sevgi Tonguc, and Nesibe Aydin. Orman did their part to try to grab the last playoff spot with an 84-68 win over Khadijiah Cave, Lindsay Allen, and Botas behind Zitina Aokuso. On Saturday, Li Yueru and Galatasaray controlled the second half for a 68-56 win, avoiding dropping below Astou Ndour-Fall and company in the standings.
