Turkish League Finals Game 2

The series continued on Friday with neither team adjusting their plans and the result was the same, but the outcome was much less in doubt. Emma Meesseman led Fenerbahce again as they pulled away for an 85-54 win, leaving Cukurova facing elimination when they return home to Mersin.

French League Quarterfinals Game 1

After the break for continental play, the playoffs started with two games on Thursday. Angers got the home win over Charnay in the series with two less heralded teams. Tarbes looked ready to spring a surprise at home in the first half, but Kariata Diaby and top seed Bourges will bring back a 76-74 lead when they host the other game. The other two series started on Friday and Charleville-Mezieres has the biggest lead of any team after Sara Chevaugeon fired them past Elodie Naigre and Lattes Montpellier 90-72. Dominique Malonga looked strong in her first game since being drafted as Lyon looked ready to get a solid home win, but Landes recovered in the second half to leave with the narrow 69-68 advantage.

French League Playdowns Game 1

The first games of the additional double round-robin were played on Friday. Chartres needs a miracle to escape and they almost had the start they needed before Villeneuve-d’Ascq found their footing and won 81-62 to seal safety. Brooke McCarty-Williams and Roche could have virtually sealed safety, but they and Landerneau are tied with several games of cushion after the hosts edged their way to a 72-71 win after a strong second half as Adja Kane had one of her best games of the season right after being drafted.
