The regular season started with the traditional single site opening weekend with Cagliari selected as the neutral site host. Sesto San Giovanni was shorthanded on Saturday, but started with a 54-45 win over Chelsea Mitchell and Moncalieri. San Giovanni Valdarno won promotion from the South division last season and brought in some experience, but it was a tough first game for them as Kristine Vitola and Kristine Anigwe scored enough between them to get Ragusa the 97-48 win.. Schio continued their roll from midweek with a 75-54 win over San Martino di Lupari. Crema also got a tough task in their first game since earning promotion from the North division, losing to Cecilia Zandalasini and Bologna 75-52.
Sunday started with one of the most intriguing roster compositions making its debut, though not at full strength, as Jessica Shepard led Venezia to an 81-69 win over Faenza in their quest to bounce back from an unusual season. Campobasso started well with a 61-47 win over Lucca. Brixia is in the top division after switching their place with Costa Masnaga and they lost to Sassari 70-58 to close out the weekend.
