Even with national team players heading to their tournament, NBL1 had a full schedule this weekend. In the South division, Bendigo remains undefeated as Megan McKay had a 21 rebound game. Alisia Jenkins had a 20 rebound effort for the Kilsyth Cobras. Without their top scorer, the Mt. Gambier Pioneers had Cassandra Brown firing away and she did to the tune of 39 points. The Ringwood Hawks found themselves on the wrong end of good games with Eilidh Simpson giving the Sandringham Sabres a 12 point, 13 rebound, 10 assist triple-double on Saturday and Nyadiew Puoch’s 30 points on Sunday got the Dandenong Rangers a narrow win.

In the North division, Courtney Woods had 34 points for the Northside Wizards, but they lost to the Darwin Salties. Ariana Moorer had a 31 point, 17 rebound, 11 assist triple-double for the Gold Coast Rollers while Mikaela Ruef turned in a 31 point, 29 rebound effort for the Logan Thunder. Alex Fowler of the Townsville Flames and Carlie Smith of Rip City also reached the 31 point mark.

The Cockburn Cougars were handed their first loss in the West division by a surprisingly large margin courtesy of the Mandurah Magic. Tayah Burrows had a 16 point, 11 rebound, 12 assist triple-double for the Rockingham Flames. On the other end of the result, the South West Slammers are still looking for their first win even with coach Alex Ciabattoni putting herself back in for both games this weekend and playing more minutes. Rockingham also won on Saturday with Casey Samuels scoring 32 points.

The same two teams are tied at the top in the East division with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles having an easy win against the last place team and Nicole Munger delivering a 18 point, 14 rebound, 10 assist triple-double for the Newcastle Falcons. Mikayla Pivec had the highest scoring game with 32 points for the Albury Wodonga Bandits and Aliza Fabbro had 30 points for the Sutherland Sharks.

The Sturt Sabres extended their lead in the Central division after Jada Rice had 21 rebounds in a Norwood Flames win over the Southern Tigers. At the other end of the standings, Taylah Levy had 35 points in an Eastern Mavericks win.

The two biggest statistical outputs in Big V came in the third division this weekend. Kylah Collins had 34 points in a Wallan Panthers win. Jessica Scannell, who also played NBL1 games for Geelong on Friday and Sunday, had 22 rebounds for the Surf Coast Chargers in a loss on Saturday.

Mexico

It was another double round week with the end of the regular season in sight. Xalapa swept the Tuesday-Wednesday series even though Brittany Byrd had 31 points in the second game for Correcaminos. AJ Alix had the highest scoring game with 32 points, but Veracruz was swept by Chihuahua. The other three Wednesday-Thursday series also finished in sweeps as Jalisco defeated Irapuato, Fresnillo won their games at Leon, and Monterrey won twice at Queretaro. The second set of series were all Sunday-Monday affairs and Jalisco salvaged a split at Xalapa with sweeps elsewhere. Chihuahua got the road sweep at Monterrey while home wins were the story in the other encounters with Veracruz prevailing against Leon, Fresnillo defeating Correcaminos, and Aguascalientes getting the better of Queretaro.
