Italian League Quarterfinals Game 1

All four series started on Wednesday with the top seeds hosting the first games before heading out on the road this weekend. Top seed Venezia took care of business with an 85-63 win over Oxygen Roma. It was also straightforward for Arella Guirantes and Schio, which won 83-67 against San Martino di Lupari. Laura Juskaite and Ragusa looked like the dangerous team that they were expected to be when their roster was unveiled before the season, starting well and having a great second half to withstand big games from Cecilia Zandalasini and Ivana Dojkic and win 77-75 at Bologna. The last game also had potential for a seeding upset and it ended up being an incredible game that went into double overtime before Caterina Dotto and Ragusa could win 76-70 on the road against young Blanca Quinonez and Campobasso.
