Hungarian League Round 1 September 24th-25th

The new season started with five games on Saturday. Szekszard was expected to be the biggest threat to the league’s powerhouse team, but Morgan Green was tremendous for BEAC to send the visitors home from Ujbuda with a 71-66 loss. Cierra Burdick and Virag Kiss teamed up to lead PEAC past MTK 65-47. Vasas just edged Csata 58-56. Gyor put together a strong roster for the season and Aaryn Ellenberg-Wiley helped them roll 77-55 in the opener against Cegled. Sopron is nowhere close to full strength yet, but opened their title defense with a 94-61 win over Pecsi. DVTK is still waiting to assemble their whole roster, but Milica Jovanovic and Reka Bernath teamed up to lead them past Szigetszentmiklos, which has a pair of rookie college teammates embarking on their second adventure as professional teammates already, 78-63.
