This round started on Saturday with San Martino di Lupari completing a dramatic comeback to win 80-72 over Kristine Anigwe and Ragusa. A league newcomer was finally able to defeat a team that was in the competition last season after Maddie Garrick and San Giovanni Valdarno edged Que Morrison and Lucca 70-68. There was no such luck for Brixia, which was doubled up by Venezia 94-47.
On Sunday, Crema was close to their first win, but Sesto San Giovanni did just enough to prevail 64-62. Kathryn Westbeld and Moncalieri started well, but Bologna controlled the rest of the game for an 88-56 win. It took overtime to settle a tense affair as Joyner Holmes and Sassari forced the extra period, but lost to Marie-Michelle Milapie and Campobasso 59-53. Martina Bestagno and Schio breezed to a 103-69 win over Faenza.
