EuroBasket 2023 Qualifiers Game 3 November 24th

Group A:

After the first window, Bosnia and Herzegovina was in the lead and riding the high of unprecedented accomplishments, but in some ways were the victims of their own success and their struggles carried over in Weissenfels after a 97-58 loss to Germany. That opened the door in Leuven and Belgium is on top of the tiebreaker at the halfway point after scoring the first 22 points on the way to a 112-41 win over North Macedonia.

Group B:

Ukraine had a big lead after the first window last year, but with everything going on in the country since then, it was unclear how they would handle this window and it was a tough start in Vilnius with an 81-62 loss to Gintare Petronyte, Laura Juskaite, and Lithuania. France was able to move into the group lead as their 103-77 win over Elina Aarnisalo and Finland in Saint-Chamond put them at the top of the tiebreaker.

Group D:

The big storyline in this group has been Turkey’s naturalization of Teaira McCowan and they had a good game to ease her into proceedings as she and Tilbe Senyurek led them in a 140-44 win over Albania in Mersin. Poland had their best chance at creating some chaos in this group when they hosted event hosts Slovenia in Gniezno, but their rally to take the lead into halftime was erased in a 78-71 loss.
