Group A:

A dream first window became a nightmare second window for Bosnia and Herzegovina as they lost to Emma Meesseman, Julie Vanloo, and Belgium 100-60 in Leuven. Germany did not look convincing early in Skopje, but Leonie Fiebich helped them take care of business against Merritt Hempe and North Macedonia to win 71-47.

One of the early games of the day was in Helsinki and Kamile Nacickaite and Lithuania carried momentum from their last game to win 65-56 over Finland. Ukraine was looking to repeat their early upset in Roanne behind Alina Iagupova and kept the game within makeable distance for the middle portion of the game despite a tough start before Marine Johannes and France won 109-88.

In Huelva, Astou Ndour-Fall and Spain took care of the part that they could control with a 77-66 win over Hungary. After their win, they were able to sit back and watch the game in Reykjavik and Sara Hinriksdottir firing Iceland past Anamaria Virjoghe and Romania 68-58 allowed Spain to officially qualify.

It would have been extremely improbable for Turkey to officially qualify, but their 80-74 win over Zala Friskovec and Slovenia in Mersin behind Teaira McCowan gets them pretty close. The game in Durres went about as expected with Liliana Banaszak and Kamila Borkowska helping Poland roll to a 136-50 win over Albania.

This group was a little bit more open heading into this window with today’s game in Vienna. Maria Jespersen led Denmark again, but Austria used a strong fourth quarter to win 66-63. The teams are all technically tied on points, but Montenegro has played one fewer game and a win in either of the last two games will get them the qualification spot.

Greece could not officially qualify in Faliraki, but knew that a win would get them close. Great Britain knew that finishing this window with another win would put them right back in the middle of the qualification picture, but their halftime lead did not hold up and Mariella Fasoula led the hosts in a 72-65 win. Portugal bounced back from a tough loss to win 76-52 over Estonia in Tartu.

Luxembourg has looked strong in this window and it ended with a fantastic result in Fribourg after Catherine Mreches and Faith Etute led them to an 81-43 win over Switzerland. That result meant that Italy would qualify with a win and they did so in Naples 81-60 over Slovakia.

This is the other group with one qualification place up for grabs and Ireland took a big lead in Dublin early, which would have made it very difficult for the Netherlands to still have a reasonable chance, but the visitors completed a furious rally late and left with a 59-56 win to mean that they key game will be their visit to the Czech Republic.

One of the early games of the day was in this group and Latvia had the chance to qualify with a win in Riga. Eden Rotberg and Israel had the lead for a large portion of the game, but Kitija Laksa and Anete Steinberga led the hosts in the fourth quarter and a 79-73 win sealed their spot.
