Turkish President’s Cup December 28th
The competition finally returned after not being contested in recent seasons due to the pandemic and it was played Wednesday in Ankara instead of before the season. While the lineups are not likely to be the same down the stretch, it was the latest opportunity to see where the top two teams are when it comes to domestic competition. Cukurova only used two of the foreign player slots, but their second half helped them win 84-78 over Kayla McBride and Fenerbahce.

Most of this round was played on Tuesday and Tanaya Atkinson led Araski to a 67-62 overtime win over Sedis. Ibaeta suddenly has some momentum as Alima Dembele and Maria Almendro led them past Marta Hermida and Leganes 92-61. Zaragoza defeated Estudiantes 68-61. A fantastic game from Erin Whalen was not enough for Bembibre, which lost to Girona 81-64. Valencia rolled to a 92-72 win over Gran Canaria. The two promoted teams played and Jairis may have struggled more in the early going, but they won this one 82-71 against Barcelona. Avenida crushed Tenerife 81-42 on Wednesday behind Mariella Fasoula. The day ended in Lugo with Sandra Ygueravide and Gernika leaving with a 65-58 win over Ensino.
