French League Round 10 January 18th-22nd
The last game from Round 8 was made up on Wednesday and Kennedy Burke led Villeneuve-d’Ascq to an 81-61 win over Roche and into the lead in the four-way tie at the top of the standings. This round started on Friday with Oderah Chidom leading Saint-Amand again, but Lattes Montpellier won 80-76. On Saturday, Charleville-Mezieres had to continue to bring in players to field a healthy lineup and Nikolina Milic and Brianna Fraser helped them control the paint in a 73-63 win over Angers. Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis nearly had a perfect offensive day in a 91-70 win over Tarbes. Villeneuve-d’Ascq built up a lead in the second half to win 78-55 at Toulouse. Landerneau managed to hang with Bourges for a while before Kayla Alexander and Anete Steinberga helped the visitors leave with an 83-73 win. The lone Sunday game had Alexia Chartereau leading Lyon in a 76-58 win over Landes to continue the big tie at the top of the standings.

Aaryn Ellenberg-Wiley returned for Gyor on Sunday with a big game, but Arella Guirantes and DVTK won 94-87 as both teams look to be in the title hunt down the stretch. Szekszard found themselves trailing early at Csata, but Ruthy Hebard helped them rally for a 75-70 win. PEAC closed the day with an 87-57 win over Szigetszentmiklos.

The top four teams played amongst each other on Saturday, starting with Bologna being down a player, but leaning on the trio of Iliana Rupert, Cecilia Zandalasini, and Ivana Dojkic to offset Marina Mabrey’s big game and hand Schio their first loss 94-80. Elin Gustavsson and Joyner Holmes helped Sassari pull closer to Venezia with a 79-74 win. In the other half of the standings, Faenza won 70-54 against San Giovanni Valdarno. The rest of the games were in the more traditional Sunday timeslot as Sesto San Giovanni won 79-55 over Carlotta Zanardi and Brixia. Lucca finally put everything together in a 75-60 win over Delicia Washington and San Martino di Lupari. Ragusa managed to grind out a 61-56 win over Campobasso with both teams thinking playoff positioning already. Jasmine Dickey and Crema recorded a 78-62 win over Moncalieri as both teams are pushing to avoid having to play extra games to secure safety.

Rize is now within a win of safety after their balanced effort got them past Juicy Landrum, Lyndra Weaver, and Kayseri 71-63. Jessica Thomas and Nesibe Aydin built a big lead and then coasted to an 84-75 win over Alexis Prince and Hatay. Jasmine Thomas had a strong debut alongside Jelena Dubljevic as Orman was finally able to field a full lineup in a 90-70 win over Channon Fluker, Chennedy Carter, and Bursa. Tiffany Hayes kept Cukurova in the lead with a 67-59 win. Azura Stevens led Galatasaray to an 81-65 Istanbul rivalry win over Dana Evans and Besiktas to close the day and create some more focus on other basketball business in the city. There was only one game on Sunday and Queen Egbo and Tyasha Harris had good games for Cankaya University, but Feyonda Fitzgerald and Khaalia Hillsman helped Antalya escape 77-76 and move a game clear of danger.
