Spanish League Round 29 April 8th-9th

One game in this round was on Saturday and Laia Flores led Girona past Leganes 83-57. The first game on Sunday was the definitely the most anticipated after their matchup did not happen last weekend and Avenida showed that they should still be considered a title favorite with an 86-78 win at Valencia. The next game was in Lugo and Ensino fended off Maria Almendro and Ibaeta 73-69. Gran Canaria’s 62-59 win did not help Sedis with their playoff seeding aspirations. A second straight nightmare season for Tenerife is almost over after their 100-47 loss to Estudiantes. The game with the clearest playoff implications saw Barcelona take care of business with a 62-55 win over Araski. Gernika won 55-50 at Jairis. The final game of the day was Zaragoza’s 55-35 win over Bembibre.

French League Round 20 April 7th-9th

This round started on Friday and Alix Duchet and Bourges have had their momentum completely halted after a 72-65 loss to Saint-Amand. Haley Peters and Lattes Montpellier won the early game on Saturday 89-78 as Lyon lost to their season’s nemesis again, albeit while missing players ahead of their final continental game. Villeneuve-d’Ascq still harbors hopes of the top seed after withstanding Alexis Peterson and Angers for an 82-71 win. There had been some worries about Roche’s form, but Tima Pouye was fantastic for them and got some help from Tiffany Clarke in a 100-59 win over Charleville-Mezieres. Landerneau looked a lot stronger, but still lost to Laura Gil and Landes 84-79. Toulouse’s streak continued on Sunday with a 74-66 win over Tarbes as they are positioning themselves well regardless of which teams join the bottom two in the playdowns.
