Italian League Semifinals Game 3

One series needed a deciding game that was played between two teams that had tightly contested their last two matchups. This game was no exception, but Schio did just enough at home to eliminate Venezia 62-57 and they start the finals on Saturday.

French League Round 22

The last round was played with simultaneous tipoffs on Tuesday with plenty at stake for teams all over the standings. There were several thrillers, but there might not have been more fireworks in any game besides the one in Angers as the hosts had Kekelly Elenga and Jasmine Bailey helping out their usual leader Alexis Peterson, but Roche knew that a win was the way to guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs and Tiffany Clarke was brilliant in helping them force overtime to win 109-107. The game ended up having no effect on the start of the playdown standings, but Toulouse has some momentum in the last safe spot after Adut Bulgak led them to an 82-62 win over Charleville-Mezieres, which dropped to the last playoff spot. Tarbes was fighting for a playoff spot, but even with Marie-Paule Foppossi playing all 50 minutes of their double-overtime affair, Kamiah Smalls and Villeneuve-d’Ascq prevailed 91-88, having entered the game harboring hopes of the top seed still. That result meant that the Lattes Montpellier-Bourges game was for the third seed with the former winning 65-61 despite the efforts of Yvonne Anderson for the visitors. Landes continued their momentum with a 72-54 win over Saint-Amand. Lyon secured the top seed with an 82-63 win over Landerneau, which must now fight for safety while in danger by a full game.
