Jessica Thomas paced Cameroon, but Cierra Dillard and Senegal got the 80-77 win. Their next opponent will be Mali, which quickly made sure that they would be the first group winner through in their 96-40 win over Guinea. Jannon Otto and Uganda were looking for a surprise again early, but Rwanda’s middle quarters gave them the lead they needed to win 66-61. The hosts will face the defending champions next after Nigeria managed to grind out a 59-52 win over Mozambique in the second half to close the day. The consolation bracket will start Thursday’s action before the semifinals that determine the Olympic qualification places.
