Italian Cup Qualification 1st Round January 4th

A change in competition format this year meant that only last place Battipaglia was eliminated by regular season results. Teams in 5th through 12th place played on Thursday to advance to another qualification round against the top 4 teams on Sunday and decide the teams in the final event. Oderah Chidom and Ragusa advanced first with an 83-59 win over Faenza. Oxygen Roma won as the road team with Dalma Czukor leading them past Taylor Soule and San Martino di Lupari 73-69. Brixia also completed a seeding upset 72-68 over Sassari. Sesto San Giovanni finished the day with an 81-71 win over Sanga Milano.
