The cup moved to this period this year with all four quarterfinals being played on Tuesday in Istanbul, not at one site, but with staggered start times so that all broadcasts had standalone space. Fenerbahce got the first timeslot and Natasha Howard led them to a 96-57 win over Nesibe Aydin. Sehernaz Cidal had an excellent shooting display in the next game, but Orman still left with a 72-63 win. Elizabeth Williams was unstoppable alongside Marina Mabrey in Cukurova’s 76-65 win over Galatasaray. Dana Evans and Besiktas finished the day with a 95-85 win over Jaime Nared, Ayse Cora, and Izmit.
No games were played on Wednesday as the remaining teams traveled to Balikesir for Thursday’s semifinals. Emma Meesseman and Fenerbahce were the first to advance to the championship game after knocking out Damiris Dantas and Orman 93-86. The other game was great as it took overtime for Marina Mabrey and Cukurova to get past Dana Evans, Jovana Nogic, and Besiktas 87-84. That set up Friday’s final and Fenerbahce had the lead early, but Marina Mabrey and Quanitra Hollingsworth helped Cukurova force overtime before falling 79-76.
