EuroLeague Round 13 January 24th

Group A:

All of the games in this round were on Wednesday and Napheesa Collier and Fenerbahce were looking to secure the top spot in the group and took care on their end with an 82-49 win. Two eliminated teams met and Alexia Cherty and Marine Johannes led Lyon past Bria Goss and Lublin 85-76. Merritt Hempe and Valencia took care of business and kept their hopes of advancing alive, winning 84-59 to keep DVTK from having any chance at the top spot. The winner of the last game would get a quarterfinals place and it was Schio, which finally got back to full strength, with the 73-59 victory over Zaragoza.

Group B:

Gyor was still looking to play spoiler in this group, but Marina Mabrey and Cukurova did leave with a 76-71 win and a quarterfinals place. Not being able to rely on the result of the other game, USK Praha clinched the top spot with a 69-61 win over Virtus Bologna, which dropped out a quarterfinal place. That result meant that the winner in Polkowice would move into a quarterfinal place ahead of the final day of games and good games from Brittney Sykes and Stephanie Mavunga were not enough for the hosts and Laura Gil and Avenida prevailed 78-73. Landes sent a message to their league rivals and prevented Villeneuve-d’Ascq from clinching a spot 80-71.
