The season started on Wednesday in Perth with Sami Whitcomb trying to lead the Lynx again. The defending champion Melbourne Boomers had some roster changes, but the trio of Tiffany Mitchell, Kristy Wallace, and Cayla George helped them win the opener 104-88. Kelsey Griffin led Bendigo to a 105-85 win over Canberra on Friday. Two more teams started on Saturday and it was Kayla Thornton who led Southside to a 99-91 win, but the story of the game may have been Izzy Borlase’s performance for Adelaide. Megan McKay was the leading scorer for Bendigo in their 85-66 win over Chloe Bibby and Perth on Sunday. Townsville started their season with Lauren Nicholson firing them past Canberra 104-68.
