Overseas League Coverage December 11th

Turkish League Round 10 December 10th-11th

The focus was on Istanbul on Saturday as Natasha Howard and Fenerbahce won 92-57 over Dana Evans and their other rivals Besiktas. The city upstarts pulled a big surprise as Megan led them past Teaira McCowan and Galatasaray 74-66. Sunday’s games started with Keyona Hayes and Lyndra Weaver completing a comeback for Kayseri to win 76-72 over Feyonda Fitzgerald and Antalya. Emma Cannon was relied on heavily again for Bursa, but Chelsea Nelson and Nesibe Aydin won 89-75. A triple-double from Tyasha Harris was not enough for Cankaya University in a 70-66 loss to Botas. Rize took the lead at the half, but Reshanda Gray and Orman had the better second half to win 71-62. Jonquel Jones and Cukurova rolled to a 90-61 win over Alexis Prince and Hatay.

Spanish League Round 11 December 10th-11th

Half of the games in this round were on Saturday, starting with Sedis winning 64-41 at Bembibre. Tanaya Atkinson and Araski edged Jairis 80-79. Valencia prevailed 83-73 over Gernika. Petra Holesinska and Gran Canaria closed the day with a 68-52 win over Ensino. The first game on Sunday went to two overtimes before Laura Garcia and Khayla Pointer were able to get Leganes a 93-87 win over Zaragoza. The other early game went to Estudiantes 69-63 over Ibaeta. The latest titanic clash looked to be going towards Avenida, but Maria Araujo and Girona completed a comeback to win 76-72. Barcelona held off struggling Tenerife 60-55 to stay in the tie at the top of the standings.

Lucca put up quite a fight before falling to Kristine Anigwe and Ragusa 77-74. Cheyenne Parker and Bologna ended the day by edging Campobasso 75-72.

This round started on Saturday with plenty of offense as Ana Vojtulek paced PEAC in a 93-83 win over Kiana Williams and Cegled. Pecsi is still winless after losing to Lauren Manis and MTK 86-56. The first game Sunday was between teams that figure to challenge at the top of the standings and Gyor won 78-64 over Szekszard. Szigetszentmiklos edged Vasas 69-68. Angelika Kiss led DVTK to a 79-62 win over Csata in Miskolc. PEAC has been playing well all season, but it was a different level for them to face Alice Kunek and Sopron and they lost 78-45.

It has been impressive that Lyon has been undefeated with so many absences to start the season and they looked like the team that they were designed to be on Sunday with an 89-72 win over Kalis Loyd and Toulouse. Oderah Chidom continues to the lead the league in scoring, but Saint-Amand lost to Villeneuve-d’Ascq 87-76. Landes is looking more like the team that they were expected to be in a 69-66 win over Tarbes. Migna Toure and Lattes Montpellier had an easy 83-47 win over Roche. Alexis Peterson and Angers came back late to edge Landerneau 75-73.
