European Competitions December 7th-9th

EuroLeague Round 5

Group A:

All the games in this group were on Wednesday, starting with Olympiacos still searching for a win despite good games from Megan Gustafson and Anna Stamolamprou as they fell 79-63 to Virtus Bologna. Fenerbahce was facing falling a game behind the pack, but Alina Iagupova and Kayla McBride led them in forcing overtime and then prevailing 82-72 as USK Praha ran out of steam despite getting Brionna Jones back and the usual great game from Alyssa Thomas. Valencia nearly completed a dramatic rally in a game that would give the winner the sole lead of the group, but Polkowice did enough late to win 79-73. Yvonne Anderson and Bourges ended the day with an 83-62 win over Szekszard.
