Turkish League Round 17 January 28th-29th

Another round started on Saturday and Sevgi Uzun and Botas rolled past Antalya 98-59. Fenerbahce went with the trio of Breanna Stewart, Alina Iagupova, and Emma Meesseman for the foreign player slots and they were all fantastic in a 99-69 win. Marie Benson and Rize took advantage of Nesibe Aydin being down a key player to temporarily pull even with safety in the win column after their 72-61 victory. Bursa played well enough to escape the drop with tremendous efforts from Chennedy Carter and Channon Fluker as Cukurova was working their latest signing into the lineup, but DeWanna Bonner and the visitors did enough to leave with a 90-85 win. The results from the day before put Kayseri in danger on Sunday, but Lyndra Weaver and Juicy Landrum led them to an 85-79 win even without a third foreign player despite Riquna Williams rejoining Orman’s lineup alongside Jelena Dubljevic. Tan White returned for Cankaya University and she and Shavonte Zellous helped them win 73-66 against Besiktas to return to move back into the last playoff place.
