French League Round 15 March 4th-5th

This round had more of the traditional heavy Saturday schedule and Sandrine Gruda and Lyon won their second game against Angers this week 90-74. Toulouse made another move to try to make their escape, but lost to Bourges 77-52. The day ended with Isabelle Yacoubou turning the clock back to the peak of her powers and getting completely unstoppable in a 72-67 win over Saint-Amand. The lone Sunday game was for third place for now and Lattes Montpellier rolled to an 81-57 win at Villeneuve-d’Ascq.

Hungarian League Round 21 March 3rd-5th

The round started on Friday with Pecsi running out of chances to win a game this season after a 69-51 loss to Szigetszentmiklos. The early game on Saturday was the big one with Gyor trying to prove that they are on Sopron’s level, but Jelena Brooks led the visitors to a 72-62 win. A good game from Kiana Williams was not enough for Cegled in an 88-59 loss to DVTK. Ty Marshall paced MTK in a 94-78 win over Schaquilla Nunn and Vasas. The first game on Sunday had Morgan Green leading BEAC to a 72-66 win against Sam Fuehring and Csata. As impressive as PEAC’s season has been, there are still questions about whether they have broken into the top third and they lost 63-59 to Szekszard with the teams also slated to match up in the playoffs.

Italian League Round 22 March 1st-5th

The last game from Round 16 was played on Wednesday and Que Morrison and Lucca nearly surprised Sassari, which would have been more difficult at the time the game was originally scheduled, but Elin Gustavsson and Joyner Holmes made sure that the visitors left with a 79-78 win. This round started on Saturday with Campobasso defeating Crema 69-62. Brixia had the lead at halftime, but a 59-51 loss to San Martino di Lupari did not help them get closer to escaping danger. Keisha Hampton helped Ragusa come back and win 85-79 against Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah and Faenza. On Sunday, Sesto San Giovanni had a surprisingly easy 83-49 win over Sassari. Maddie Garrick and San Giovanni Valdarno put more distance between themselves and the bottom after prevailing 81-76 in double overtime against Moncalieri. Bologna showed that they are still the main title challenger after an 85-60 win over Jessica Shepard and Venezia. It used to be a great rivalry, but Schio crushed Lucca 109-51.
