Another day of games on Monday started in this group and the opener was certainly entertaining. Cuba had the better start, but Venezuela came back late to force overtime and Daniela Wallen was brilliant again as they racked up 30 points in the extra 5 minutes to win 106-85. After their last trip to this tournament was ended by a team virus outbreak, Argentina is certainly giving it their best shot this time around, but is still without a win after Brazil ended their scoring drought when it mattered and escaped 56-55.

Group B:
Jenifer Munoz led Colombia to a 70-56 win as the Dominican Republic is facing depth issues again. The last game of the day was an excellent rematch from the last tournament with plenty to play for in this meeting as well with the top spot in the group possibly on the line. Puerto Rico kept it close in the first half, but Canada avenged their previous semifinal defeat by completely controlling the second half on their way to an 84-47 win.
