Tuesday’s first two games were in this group with teams facing a clearer picture of where they could fit in the bracket. Yamara Amargo and Cuba avoided elimination with a 66-63 win, leaving Andrea Boquete and Argentina needing a win against Venezuela to advance. That left the game that would determine the group winner and Taina Paixao and Brazil took the lead in the first half to win 67-54. They now get a rest on the last day of group play while the United States will need a win against Cuba to not have to wait to find out whether they finish second.

Mexico will now face Colombia in the last game on Wednesday to determine third and fourth place.
