AfroBasket Day 3 July 30th

Sunday was the last day of the group stage with the top teams in each group getting a bye and the rest of the teams playing in the first knockout round on Tuesday. Cameroon won Group B and left Guinea in last place with a 70-50 victory in the first game. The Group D game would grant the winner the top spot and Amy Okonkwo was unstoppable for Nigeria in an 83-65 win over Egypt. Rwanda looked set to storm their way to the top of Group A, but Nadir Manuel and Angola blasted out of the break and forced overtime, winning 74-68 to move up to second place, but not enough to displace the hosts. Cierra Dillard and Senegal were looking for a win to avoid the bottom of Group C, but Mali controlled the second half to win 72-49 and secure the last bye.
