This round started last Wednesday with Melbourne’s 90-76 win over Perth. Bendigo stayed in the playoff hunt on Thursday with Kelsey Griffin and Ally Wilson leading them to a 93-75 win over Alex Sharp and Canberra. Sydney’s run continued and they got a player back for the stretch run as Cayla George and Lauren Nicholson led them in a 102-81 win over Southside. Saturday’s game was postponed by weather so action continued on Sunday with the two bottom teams meeting and Jocelyn Willoughby and Adelaide remained ahead of Alex Sharp and Canberra with an 84-67 win. Tuesday started with a battle of Frolings and Kelsey Griffin and Bendigo continued their late season hunt for the playoffs with an 80-70 win over Tera Reed and Melbourne. Gemma Potter was excellent for Canberra, but Stephanie Reid and Sami Whitcomb helped Townsville take care of business 91-83 and maintain their lead. On Wednesday, the last game before the international break was also Perth’s last chance to get back on track, but they were even more shorthanded and Amy Atwell’s efforts could not keep them going as Leilani Mitchell, Mercedes Russell, and Bec Cole paced Southside in a 91-70 win.
